Research from the Institute of HeartMath found that when 3 participants (out of 4 who were seated together) were trained and used a HeartMath technique – their level of coherence affected the 4th persons coherence (the one who was NOT using the HeartMath technique!).
Coherence is an optimal state of functioning and is the key to building resilience. When we are in a coherent state, things that come up in life just don’t get under our skin or stress us out as much.
HeartMath also has a Global Coherence Initiative – an international cooperative effort to help facilitate a shift in global consciousness. With all that’s happening around the worlds, it is time isn’t it? As groups of people intend to increase heart coherence, it adds to a momentum of evolutionary change which will help society change too.
Furthermore, HeartMath studies have measured that our hearts energy radiates out 3 feet – wouldn’t you want to radiate a heart-centred, loving energy to others? Talk about connection on a whole other level, right?

Coherence is measured using Heart Rate Variability (HRV) – the naturally occurring variations in the time between each heartbeat.
Younger people have a higher HRV than older adults. Yet HRV can be changed. It is known that perceptions and emotions affect the nervous system which affects the heart.
A lower HRV for your age is a predictor of future health problems and is associated with numerous medical conditions. Having an optimal HRV is related to being flexible, adaptable to changing situations and lifes challenges.
